Zanaflex description
Zanafelx is a prescription medication used to relax muscles. Zanaflex helps relieve spasms, severe cramping, and tightness of the muscles caused by medical problems such as multiple sclerosis and/or injuries to the spine.

How to take Zanaflex

Only your doctor can determine which Zanaflex dosage is right for you. The normal prescribed Zanaflex dosage for muscle relaxation is 8 mg every six to eight hours as needed (not to exceed 36 mg within a 24-hour period).
Zanaflex precautions
DO NOT stop taking this medicine suddenly. Otherwise unwanted side effects may occur. If you're ready to quit taking Zanaflex, consult with your doctor. Zanaflex may cause drowsiness in some patients. Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Also, use caution with alcohol, other muscle relaxants, sleep medicines, and pain medicines. These drugs may increase drowsiness and dizziness while you are taking Zanaflex.
Side effects of Zanaflex
Zanaflex may cause unwanted side effects in some patients. The most commonly reported side effects with Zanaflex are: dizziness, drowsiness, weakness, dry mouth, increased muscle spasms, and/or sweating. These side effects are not serious enough to stop treatment. If you experience more severe side effects such as allergic reaction, abnormal behavior, hallucinations, or liver damage (yellowing of the skin or eyes, nausea, abdominal pain, unusual bleeding or bruising, severe fatigue) stop taking Zanaflex and seek medical attention immediately.
