Follow your doctor's advice. For relaxing stiff sore muscles, the normal recommended dose is one 400 mg tablet 3-4 times daily.
Skelaxin precautions
Avoid alcohol. Alcohol may increase the effects of dizziness and drowsiness. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, DO NOT operate heavy machinery or perform potentially hazardous activities until you are fully alert. Also, DO NOT take Skelaxin if you have acute intermittent porphyria.
Side effects of Skelaxin
In clinical studies, the most commonly reported side effects with Skelaxin were blurred vision (or change in vision), dizziness, lightheadedness, and drowsiness. Other less severe side effects that do not require you to stop treatment include headache, nervousness, irritability, nausea, upset stomach, and/or vomiting. Side effects with Skelaxin are mild and tend to go away as your body adjusts to the medicine. If you experience more severe side effects such as allergic reaction, depression, fainting, fast heartbeat, or trouble breathing stop treatment and seek emergency medical help.
