How to take Nexium

Nexium capsules should be taken at least one hour before meals. For best results take Nexium at the same time every day. Do not chew or crush the capsules. If you have a hard time swallowing them, you can empty the contents onto a tablespoon of applesauce. The applesauce should be eaten right away. DO NOT store for later use.

Nexium precautions

It is not known whether Nexium passes through breast milk. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, do not take Nexium without first consulting with your doctor. Do not take more Nexium than prescribed. If you overdose seek medical attention. Symptoms of overdose include drowsiness, shortness of breath, tremor, loss of coordination, and seizures.

Side effects of Nexium

Common side effects that patients experience while taking Nexium include headache, diarrhea, nausea, flatulence, abdominal pain, constipation, and dry mouth. If you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives) while taking Nexium stop treatment and seek emergency medical attention.
