Follow your doctor's advice. The normal recommended dose for patients with muscle spasms is one 10 mg tablet three times a day (not to exceed 60 mg or six 10 mg tablets in a 24-hour period).
Flexeril precautions
Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Flexeril may cause dizziness or drowsiness. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities. Also use alcohol with caution. Alcohol may increase drowsiness and dizziness while you are taking Flexeril. DO NOT take Flexeril if you have: Taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within the last 14 days. Recently had a heart attack (within the last 6 weeks). Irregular heartbeats. A heart block. Heart conduction disturbance. Congestive heart failure. Hyperthyroidism that is not under control.
Side effects of Flexeril
Common side effects of Flexeril include drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, blurred vision, and/or dry mouth. These side effects are temporary and tend to go away as your body gets adjusted to the medication. Other more severe side effects that require you to stop treatment and seek medical attention include allergic reaction, seizures, hallucinations, confusion, blurred vision, increased heart rate, and depression.
