How to take Cyclobenzaprine

Take Cyclobenzaprine exactly as prescribed. The normal prescribed dose for most patients is one 10 mg tablet three times a day (not to exceed 60 mg or six 10 mg tablets in a 24-hour period). If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's an hour past your normal scheduled dose, skip it and continue with your regular dosing regimen.

Cyclobenzaprine precautions

DO NOT take Cyclobenzaprine if you: * Have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within the last 14 days. * Have recently had a heart attack (within the last 6 weeks). * Have irregular heartbeats. * Have a heart block. * Have heart conduction disturbance. * Have congestive heart failure. * Have hyperthyroidism that is not under control.

Side effects of Cyclobenzaprine

Common side effects that tend to go away as your body gets adjusted to the medication include drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, blurred vision, and dry mouth. Other more serious side effects that are less likely to occur are allergic reaction, seizures, hallucinations, confusion, blurred vision, increased heart rate, and depression. NOTE: If you experience any of the more serious side effects associated with Cyclobenzaprine, stop treatment and seek medical attention immediately.
